From 13 to 17 August 2025, the Prague-based club Naginata Gorenkai organized the second Czech national camp in the town of Cesky Dub, Czech Republic. Training took place in the local Sokol gymnasium, a traditional sports hall connected with the long history of the Sokol movement, which has supported physical education and community life in Czech towns for more than a century.
Cesky Dub is a small historic town situated on the foothills of the Jested Ridge. With roots reaching back to the Middle Ages, it is today known for its old town, monastery remains, and peaceful surroundings. The calm atmosphere provided a suitable environment for focused training as well as for time spent together outside the dojo.

The camp was attended by 10 practitioners from the Czech naginata community, ranging from beginners to more experienced members. The first three days of practice were led by Jarmila Nedvidkova (1st dan, Czech Republic), while the remaining two days were guided by Jan Hrbac (5th dan, Czech Republic). The program covered both basic techniques and more advanced exercises, practiced with and without bogu, so that all participants could benefit according to their level.

An important part of the event was also the time spent together outside training. Participants were accommodated in the same place, shared meals, and enjoyed simple activities in the surrounding area. These moments helped to strengthen mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation within the group.
Overall, the camp provided an opportunity to improve technical skills and at the same time to strengthen the sense of community among Czech naginata practitioners. As the second national camp, it confirmed its role as a meaningful tradition for the further development of naginata in the Czech Republic.
